Home renovation & extension architects in Winchester.
As architects in Winchester, we design ambitious whole-house renovations, extensions and refurbishments for period and character homes across Winchester and Hampshire – and further afield, for the right project.
Layout, the light, the detailing and the finishes are resolved together, into something that enhances the way you life, and is unquestionably yours.
Why work with us?
We have some fun ideas that add character.
Whether unlocking a period home or modernising a contemporary property, we enhance its character while improving functionality and comfort with some out-the-box ideas.
We leave no stone unturned.
Every material, every transition, and every proportion is carefully considered – ensuring that new interventions complement the original architecture – while elevating your life.
We embrace a personal process.
As a studio of two, we work closely with you to redefine how your home supports and enhances your daily life. Our designs are intuitive and uplifting in the everyday.
Our approach is simple
The UK is home to some of the country’s finest period properties – each requiring a considered approach to restoration and adaptation. Our work respects and enhances historical features while ensuring your home is suited to contemporary living.
We love working with Grade II listed buildings and conservation area properties, navigating the complexities of planning permissions, heritage constraints, and structural challenges.
We'd be delighted to answer your questions.
Many of the homes we renovate come with extra challenges – listed status, a conservation area, an Article 4 direction.
We talk about budget from day one, and design towards what you actually want to spend, and where you want to spend it.
If you’re thinking about renovating or extending a home you care about, it’s worth talking early – we’re a small-batch studio and take on a handful of projects a year.
“Both Tim and Zofia, were a pleasure to work with – insightful, creative, and consistently professional throughout. They listened carefully, challenged thoughtfully, and brought real clarity to the process. Their patience and attention to detail made a complex project feel calm and well managed. I’d highly recommend them.”

Sensitive & heritage work is our specialism. We handle the applications, the drawings and the conversations with planners and conservation officers.
Common questions homeowners often ask us before beginning a renovation.
How much does a whole-house renovation cost?
It varies – older homes especially. We can about talk realistic ranges during our first conversation. Tim & Zofia will help you budget for your project, including VAT, professional and survey fees. We do have some figures as a starting point in our Winchester Extensions Guide.
Do I need planning permission to renovate or extend?
Sometimes – it depends on what the work is, your permitted development rights, and whether you’re in a Conservation Area or the South Downs. We handle this as part of our initial consultation – feel free to reach out. At the end of the meeting, you’ll have a clear idea of your next steps, and indicative costs.
Can you renovate a listed building?
Yes – it’s our specialism and our interest. Most of our work is Listed Buildings, so we’ve become very familiar with the process. We’ve also built a black book of trusted specialists and craftsmen that will help us at different stages during the project. We’d love to come see your home, feel free to reach out.
Do you design the interiors too?
Yes. Architecture and interiors are designed together here, by Tim and Zofia. We feel it’s the only way to unlock the true potential of your project. Interior design is baked into our architectural design process from the outset.
We'd love to hear about your ambitions.
We begin with a relaxed video or phone call to hear your vision, your goals, and your budget. No charge or obligations.
We then visit your home for an in-depth consultation – listening, understanding how you live, and seeing the building for ourselves.
We’ll follow up with a detailed proposal with a clear roadmap for your project – the stages, the approach, and the fees – from first drawings to post-completion celebrations.
